Northern Territory Writers Festival June 2024
Wow! This event was superb. The theme was Reverberations. The venue was the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory set at the water’s edge on gently sloping lawns. I met (and of course bought books off …) these wonderful authors: ‘Walking the Rock Country in Kakadu’ (Diane Lucas, Ben Tyler, and Emma Long); ‘We Come With This Place’ (Debra Dank); also couldn’t resist Diane Lucas’s book, ‘The Passage of Seasons’ … and a few more but those were my favourites. There were great panels and performances. Check out the link in the title.
Bunuru Social Impact Summit and Djinda Mereny, Dinner Under the Stars, 13 & 14 March 2024
What an amazing event this was. I felt privileged to sit with the Elders, to hear the stories, the truth telling, some of which nearly broke my heart, whilst the the theme of ‘Resilience, Survival and Strength of Aboriginal people through Culture‘ offered light and hope for the future where Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people of Australia learn to Walk Together.
Bunuru Social Impact Summit, Wednesday 13 March 2024 Poolgarla Parkland, Kaarta Kooma, Kings Park
I’m so looking forward to this fabulous event, the Bunuru Social Impact Summit. The Summit will bring together diverse thought leaders, change-makers, artists, and innovators from across Western Australia. They will present their unique perspectives, experiences, and insights to explore how Aboriginal culture has, since colonialism, gone from surviving to thriving. For 2024, our theme is Culture: Survival, Resilience, Strength & Celebration. 2024 also marks five years since the inception of Danjoo Koorliny, the halfway point of a 10-year journey towards the 2029 bicentenary.

Perth Festival and Writing WA have formed a dynamic new partnership to present Perth Writers Weekend at Perth Festival 2024. The State Library of Western Australia is proud to be hosting the Perth Writers Weekend. –

Wow! What a fun and challenging event with team ‘The Woodies‘ … Highly commended, runner up, with our great story: The Not So Secret Garden. With thanks to the National Trust WA for allowing us to write the story in Woodbridge House. Well done, my fellow team members.

Fabulous Writers’ Weekend at Perth Festival ~ Literature & Ideas
What a wonderful weekend it was. I’m still buzzing with the excitement of listening to some amazing authors talk about their latest books. Some of my favourites were David Allan Patale, Joshua Kemp, Natasha Lester, Hannah Kent ... so many more. The finale of my weekend was listening to the fabulously funny Judith Lucy, what a way to finish a perfect weekend.
